bero97 There are SPARC builds of OpenIndiana. Obviously, they only contain a subset of the packages available for i386/amd64.

Install ISO was booting into console, GUI crashed, and installation failed on text mode. Maybe I did something wrong, but UEFI doesn't work "out of the box"

thats not abut uefi, thats about GFX card support for GUI.

in what way the install failed?

Text Mode started, but dropped out, that HW is not supported, didn't realy remember the exact error, but only option was to leave (F3 ???) the setup. I'm open to test more, if needed.
